Solution
For DFX Version 2 Still Applications- StandAlone Complete, Aperture and Photoshop

When using the PAINT Mask tool - take advantage of the keyboard short cuts and the Edit Layout mode. Bring in your image into the DFX interface > choose Paint Mask> choose your 'painting' filter to create mask. Then in the menu; Go to View>
Edit Layout
mode (
F3
key -Mac/PC ) zoom in and out by using the
'I'
and
'O'

cmd
(mac) or
ctrl
(pc) key on the keyboard by pulling in and out the brush size with your mouse. Use the
'M'
key to make the mask in progress appear in preview and
'M'
again to make it disappear to return to image.
