Software is always updating and evolving, so make sure you have the latest installer for version 4, which is located here:
Please note, you are buying a specified license code to run your software unrestricted. Please note when you are installing the Tiffen Dfx software, you will be prompted to pick your installation host and paths. The installer will find ALL applicable hosts and paths to run the software. However you will only be allowed to unrestrict the product of your purchase. If you checked any of the other Dfx products during this process, they will run only as trials. If you try to activate them with the wrong license code, you will get ERROR 3650.
DFX Photo Plug-in requires a host for it to work. The Dfx Photo plug in will install into the supported hosts of Photoshop/Elements, Adobe LightRoom and Apple Aperture. The installer will find all applicable hosts to install into. However to make it easier, we gave you a step by step on how to install and activate for each: Photoshop/Elements, LightRoom and Apple Aperture. You only have to activate the license once to run the product within all three hosts. So for example you activated the Tiffen Dfx license in Photoshop, you are activated now in Aperture and LightRoom.
Please consult the user guide of your product/license for more details. The User Guide and the LATEST BUILD AND UPDATES are also located here:
** Please make sure that the host application is closed down when installing Tiffen Dfx**
If for some reason Dfx does not show up as an external editor, you can manually add Dfx as an external editor by doing a manual install. Consult page 6 of the Tiffen Dfx v4 Photo Plug in User Guide , for step by step directions. (If you have downloaded the Standalone program to trial it, take care not to add this exe into your editor - that will require a separate license and will error 3650)
Attached is the installation guides for the photo plug in, it references version 3, but works the same for version 4.
