Mountain Lion activation issues-

Our internet server can usually identify your machine despite the OS change.  After an update install of the Dfx software, the activation should reissue from server automatically.  However in very few cases it may not re-activate and a few steps are needed to get it licensed again. Mountain Lion from Apple (OS X 10.8) has a new Security setting called ‘Gatekeeper’ that is by default turned on.  Gatekeeper will only opens installers that Apple has signed and we anticipate because of that there may be activation issues as a result.  In the license menu of DFX,> go to Advanced Options > click on next, you will view host id's in the pulldown menu.   If you have more then one, you can change what shows in the window by highlighting one of the other other host id (s) and then hit finish. Quit DFX and go into the program again. The id left in the box is now on the top of the stack, by switching to a new host id will make the activation server go to that one first for recognition.

If error still occurs, go back to advanced options , bring up the host id's and use the clipboard option to copy and paste your host id's into a support ticket. In your ticket, please indicate your OS change and we will confirm by identifying your host id's. This has to be done in writing and will not be done over the phone, please do not call Tiffen Customer Service.

*For best results- deactivate license within your DFX prior to upgrading or reinstalling operating system and then install the newest build of Dfx for 10.8 located here-
