If you manage to get your Dfx user interface windows into a strange state, you can return Dfx to its default window setup by following the instructions below.

Windows XP

  • From the Windows Start Menu, select Run.
  • Enter regedit in the Open field and click OK.
  • Go to the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Tiffen folder and delete Dfx 3 PS if you are using the Photoshop version or Dfx 3 if using the Standalone.
  • Restart Dfx.

Windows Vista or Windows 7

  • From the Windows Start Menu, type regedit.
  • When regedit appears in the list above, click on it.
  • Go to the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Tiffen folder and delete Dfx 3 PS if you are using the Photoshop version or Dfx 3 if using the Standalone.
  • Restart Dfx.

Macintosh

  • Double-click on the Hard Drive icon on your Desktop.
  • Select your Home icon at the left side of the file browser that opens.
  • Navigate to the /Library/Preferences folder and delete the appropriate file for your version. Photoshop: com.tiffen.Dfx 3 PS.plist file, Aperture: com.tiffen.Dfx 3 Aperture.plist, Standalone: com.tiffen.Dfx 3.plist.
  • Restart Dfx.
  • (For Lion/Maverick Users the Library folder is hidden: Click on the "Help" tab and type in "Library", it will direct you to the correct Library path)
